Ingredients:

1-1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup shortening

1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup HOT coffee
1/2 cup Raisins or coconut
1/4 cup chopped nuts

Cooking Instructions:

Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt and cinnamon. Cream together shortening and brown sugar. Mix egg into creamed mixture. Add 1/2 cup of HOT coffee. Mix creamed mixture into sifted ingredients. Add Raisins or coconut and chopped nuts. Spread on greased 11 x 16 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes.

Ice immediately from the oven with 1 tablespoon Hot Coffee to 1/2 c powdered sugar.
