Ingredients: |
2 cups flour 4 teaspoons baking powder 3 teaspoons sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup shortening 1 egg 2/3 cup milk

Instructions: |
Sift together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Cut in shortening. Beat together egg and milk in a separate bowl then stir in liquid ingredients just until moistened. Flour rolling surface and knead dough mixture 20 times. Roll to 3/4 inch thickness and cut. Place biscuits on pan with sides touching. Bake on 450 degrees for 8-10 minutes. |

There was a little strip of dough left over when I cut my biscuits so I rolled it out in a long roll, flattened the dough slightly, sprinkled sugar and cinnamon and rolled the dough, pinching the ends together at the end of the roll. Made a nice little cinnamon roll! |
