Ingredients:
1 cup raisins
1 cup water
1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cup sifted flour
3/4 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
Cooking Instructions:
Cook together raisins and water until about 5 tablespoons of liquid remains.  Drain, reserving the liquid.   Mix together shortening, sugar and eggs.  Stir in cooled raisin liquid and vanilla.  Sift together flour, soda, and salt.  Stir into liquid mixture.   Stir in oats and cooked raisins.  Drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet.  Bake at 375 degrees 10-12 minutes.
